![]() ![]() There are many Guitar VST Plugins, most of them are not free and cost up to $200 (some of them are actually worth the money), but luckily there are some FREE options out there that are quite impressive as well. Of course, they won’t sound EXACTLY like the real thing, but close enough, and the truth is that having access to free amp simulation software, as well as guitar VSTs (guitar simulations) is an absolute must for anyone who is producing music at home. I believe that the general lack of quality could be coming from my relatively cheap speakers (Which is surprisingly bassy, in a good way), but also that my active EMG pickups could just be way too hot for my USB mixer.Up until very recently, getting a good guitar sound out of a free guitar VST plugin what practically unheard of, but that’s no longer the case. This is the Amazon page to my exact speakers: Cyber Acoustics 2.1 Speaker Sound System with Subwoofer and Control Pod ![]() Mid level gaming pc with an Intel i5 6500 CPU, windows 10 and built in normal soundcard. An ART USB Mixer, Project Series plugged into a front USB on my pc. An approximately 6 year old Schecter Damian Solo Diamond Series with EMG 81/85 active pickups. I know my gear isn't pro or anything, but I feel like I should be able to get a little more quality from what I have, so I'm guessing something here is the weak link in my equipment. Here is my very random and late night recording of the preset this person made(I recorded with the Lamb of God preset specifically and tried to get a wide range of tonalities presented): Here is an example of the presets I downloaded being used by it's creator: I even will download presets people make for Guitar Rig but it's not the same! This isn't to say they aren't decent tones, but there's just something off about em. Things are generally more tinny and buzzy and sound like they are coming from, well, a computer. My tones are weaker and have a LOT of extra noise and crackle, and lack the shape, definition and over all enjoy-ability I know is possible from Guitar Rig. This is mostly a problem with metal tones or very driven or harsh tones in general. I haven't been able to find a solid answer anywhere for my issue, but this community seems pretty dang smart from what I've seen so far so I'm hopefulĪs the title suggests my issue is that I have been unable to replicate the sound quality in Guitar Rig 5 on pc that I hear other people getting. I just found out about this forum earlier today and thought I'd check it out. ![]()
